JNU, Deepika and 5 Crores

(Absurd Placard Defaming Hinduism at Anti CAA Protest)

JNU is the well-known university in India not for its educational accomplishments but because it is the hotbed of leftist politics in India. 4-5 lakh of rupees per student per year is spent by the government on its students which comes from the pockets of honest taxpayers of the country. While the usefulness of their Ph.D. and Mphil in subjects like "African studies" in the stream of humanities is debatable, almost every student spends around 8-10 years in the university. The student has to pay a negligible amount of fees for hostel and mess, has the independence to loiter around freely, and prefers being called a student rather than facing the realities and responsibilities of life. Some of the students at JNU work as freelance protestors, just give them a placard, a candle, and a cup of tea or cigarette and they are good to go without even knowing what they are protesting for. They fight for the constitution and freedom of speech by singing praises of Afzal Guru and singing "Bharat tere tukde honge, inshallah" . They protest against the rule which would make them hoist the Indian flag in the college, the flag of the country they live in. They vandalize the signboard saying "V.D Savarkar marg" and write "Mohd. Ali Jinnah Road" instead. These students had also protested against CAA and NRC. Those protests which had started "peaceful protests" turned around into such violence that students were about to burn the entire library building. They caused casualties to policemen who went to stop the violence occurring at the protests. Students were seen pelting stones, vandalizing the college property, hostel, and the library building. Had the police not arrived on time, they would have burnt one of the buildings. Whatever happens under this kind of circumstance, Police are blamed doubly. If the property is vandalized, the police are called "mute spectator to crime" but if they take action against the students suddenly the entire democracy in India comes under danger. They even pelted stones on the lady police officers and showered them with abuses. But the boys who were violent immediately ran behind hijabi women for cover as soon as the police reached to catch them. Here is an FIR filed against them by police when they were protesting against fee hike in the university

Such is their audacity that even after committing these grave crimes, they approached news outlets claiming police had hurt them and they had "grave injuries". Aishe Ghosh president of the student union claimed that she had a severe head injury and got 16 stitches and appeared with a bandage on her head and plaster, on one hand, claiming police tried to kill her.

Now let's talk about Deepika Padukone, the famous celebrity who visited JNU as the aftermath of these events. She went to JNU to "show her solidarity" with the freedom of expression of the students of JNU, right before her film "Chhapak" was to be released. This incident had caused a great uproar on social media. Some people were praising her like crazy while others called it a publicity stunt. She shared the stage with kanhaiya kumar who has faced charges for sexual misconduct for promoting a film about an acid attack survivor which is the biggest hypocrisy in itself.

The leftist gang went gaga over this and called it "a brave step" and "gave more power to her". They also threw out abuses at people who had decided to boycott "Chhapak" because of Deepika's apparently anti-national move. Interestingly, Deepika, however, chose to remain silent on the entire episode of her visit to JNU. She neither acknowledge those who praised her nor gave it back to those who decided to boycott her movie. She didn't even mention JNU after there was a meeting of JNU students union and JNU teachers association in response to the violence. This raises an important question, why is there a need for the government to waste its resources, waste precious time of police who have several other responsibilities to maintain the law and order of the country and precious taxpayers' money on these hoodlums who do nothing productive in their lives apart from getting some short term fame by appearing in the media.

Today on 29th July, 7 months after these protests occurred, I see a report claiming that she had received a lump sum amount of 5 crores just for her 5-minute visit to the JNU campus. This brings the entire story to a full circle. Interestingly, these 5 crores were given by a Pakistani businessman, Aneel Mussarat who has close ties with Imran Khan. What more can be expected from people who dance at millionaire's weddings for money?

Here is how a netizen expressed himself when this report came out: All these events happen while the honest citizens of the country, common people like us sit silently and watch these activities and some idiots put it up on their Whatsapp statuses "hOw cAa iS dIsCRimInaAtOry" and students from other colleges "support JNU students". Mind you, even Pakistan has its NRC.
